We’d all love to commute more sustainably, but sometimes the most obvious eco-friendly transportation option–biking–just doesn’t cut it. URBAN626, an urban design startup in Pasadena, has come up with a bike alternative that fit seamlessly into your commute.
URB-E, the world’s most compact foldable electric scooter is an easy, fun, and practical way to get around sustainably.
The Bike Alternative for Professional Commuters
Sweating through your clothes on the way to the office is definitely not going to impress your boss, and biking to work on a warm day can leave you as drenched as a hard workout.
We designed URB-E without pedals, which means it’s easy to ride in a skirt or business suit. With URB-E, you can shower at home or the gym and make it to your AM meeting looking as fresh as when you left. Say goodbye to sweaty palms and pit stains!
Squeezing on the train? No problem!
Bikes can be a tricky last mile solution
because they take up so much space on public transportation. Many Metro lines won’t allow full-sized bikes during peak hours, and buses typically have only one or two spots for bicycles, meaning a would-be transit rider might wait for several buses to pass before finding space for her bike.
URB-E solves this problem by folding for convenient storage on public transportation. URB-E collapses to the size of a golf bag in less than one second, fitting between your legs or under your seat without a second thought. Weighing only 35 lbs, URB-E is also easy to lift or push through turnstiles and onto buses.
Stay Flexible, No Matter What
Biking to work typically leaves riders with one option: biking home. Riding URB-E, on the other hand, means you can be flexible about your return commute.
Unexpected rainstorm? Hitch a ride home with a coworker and toss your URB-E in the trunk. Had an extra drink at happy hour? URB-E fits easily in the back of an Uber, so you can always get home safely.
URB-E Goes Where You Go
It’s easier than parking a car, but finding a place to store your bike can be a total hassle. Maybe you carry a heavy lock with you or rent out a bike cage at your nearest Metro stop (expensive!), but there’s always the risk your front tire or seat will get snatched while you’re at work.
URB-E’s small profile means it can go where you go. Stick in under your desk or in the corner of your office, and you’ll barely notice it until it’s time to ride. If you do want to park outside, though, URB-E can be locked in a bike rack with a traditional lock. Just take the keys with you and you’re set!
